Project Overview

The Online Shopping & Supply Chain Management System is an enterprise-grade desktop software platform engineered using Java and MySQL for General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). The system unifies three critical commercial stakeholders—Customers, Suppliers, and Administrators—into a tightly synchronized, event-driven workflow managing the end-to-end commerce lifecycle from product discovery to logistics fulfillment and automated returns.

Key Highlights

3-Tier Layered DAO Architecture: Decouples Java Swing Presentation, DAO Business Services (ProductDao, PurchaseDao, CategoryDao, UserDao, SupplierDao), and MySQL Persistence via JDBC.
3-Role Coordinated Workflows: Multi-role authentication with dynamic radio switching, real-time executive KPI metrics, live stock reservation, and POS invoice printing via Java Print API.
Finite State Machine & Returns Engine: 4-stage order lifecycle (PendingOn The WayReceivedRefunded) featuring double-click delivery completion and automated 30-day millisecond-delta refund calculations.
